A computer on every desk is the present. In the future there will be a 3D Printer on every desk too, and this will transform the way that our kids learn about the STEM Principles, says Bre Pettis from MakerBot Industries.
Imagine if, instead of the standard Lego set, every child had the ability to ‘play’ using a 3D printer – technology that could transform not only education, but manufacture, medicine and music. It’s being called the “invention engine”; a futuristic invention that teachers and students may soon have at their fingertips.
Additionally MakerBot is involved in a range of crowd-sourced solutions via the Thingiverse Community that includes a project to save hermit crabs.
